Solar-Ice shifts the energy-intensive refrigeration process toward solar hours, stores cooling as ice and uses low-power circulation to serve the designed nighttime load.

Compressor-Free Night Cooling

During the day, PVT electrical output powers the refrigeration process that produces ice. Recovered thermal output can support hot-water or other useful heating applications. During the designed nighttime period, stored cooling is distributed by pumps, fans and controls while the compressor remains off.
